How do I use Craft Resin Table Top Epoxy for countertops and tabletops?
Craft Resin Table Top Epoxy is designed for protective, high-gloss surface coatings. It self-levels and cures crystal clear.
Quick workflow: Prep the surface → measure 1:1 by volume → mix thoroughly (3–5 minutes) → pour and spread → remove bubbles with gentle heat → cover to protect from dust while curing.

How do I know how much epoxy I need? Do you have a calculator?
Use our epoxy calculator here: https://www.craft-resin.com/pages/epoxy-resin-calculator
What are the cure stages and timing for Table Top Epoxy?
At around 22°C / 70–72°F, typical stages are:
Gel time: ~30–40 minutes
Tack-free: ~6–8 hours
Fully cured: ~36–48 hours
Temperature matters—aim for 21–24°C / 70–75°F for the most predictable results.
How thick can I pour in one coat?
Recommended thickness is up to 1/8” (≈ 3 mm) per pour/coating.
If you need more build, follow the guidance in our full guide: https://www.craft-resin.com/blogs/news/craft-resin-table-top-epoxy
What should I use to apply it?
A simple setup includes:
- Mixing cups, stir sticks, gloves
- Spreader/squeegee (or brush/foam brush)
- Heat gun or torch for bubble release
Keep the workspace clean and cover the surface during cure to prevent dust settling (use a box or tent that doesn’t touch the epoxy).
Does it cure clear, or does it have a tint?
It’s designed to cure crystal clear with a high-gloss finish. It also contains UV inhibitors to help resist yellowing over time.
Can I add color (pigments, alcohol inks, mica)?
Yes — Craft Resin Table Top Epoxy is compatible with common colorants such as mica powders, pigment pastes, and alcohol inks.
For techniques and best practices, see the full guide: https://www.craft-resin.com/blogs/news/craft-resin-table-top-epoxy
What causes sticky or tacky spots, and how do I fix them?
Common causes include:
- Incorrect measuring (must be 1:1 by volume)
- Incomplete mixing (not scraping sides and bottom)
- Working too cold or exceeding the recommended pour thickness
Fix: If it’s slightly tacky, allow more time in a warm, stable environment. If it’s not curing properly, remove the affected material and recoat using accurate measuring and thorough mixing.
Can this epoxy be used outside?
It contains UV inhibitors, but full-time outdoor exposure is much harsher than indoor use (sun, moisture, temperature swings). We recommend testing a small sample first and using an appropriate exterior topcoat for long-term outdoor projects.
Can I use Table Top Epoxy for molds, coasters, or small pours?
Yes — it’s suitable for small pours like coasters and décor projects, as long as you keep the pour/coating thickness within the recommended up to 1/8” (≈ 3 mm).
Can I use Craft Resin Table Top Epoxy to make tumblers / drinking cups?
It can be used to coat tumblers for a smooth, glossy finish. We recommend using epoxy on the exterior only. Avoid applying epoxy to surfaces that contact hot liquids or the mouth/lips, or the inside of the cup.
Can this epoxy be used on floors?
We don’t recommend it for flooring. Floors typically require specialty systems designed for abrasion resistance and traction.
How durable is it once fully cured?
Once fully cured, it forms a hard protective coating intended for everyday use — common wear, spills, and typical surface contact.
Is it heat-resistant? Can I use it in a kitchen or bathroom?
After curing, it’s rated heat resistant up to 80°C / 176°F after a full 21-day cure. For best long-term appearance, use trivets or coasters for very hot items (especially pots and pans).
Is it food safe? Can I use it on a countertop or serving surface?
When fully cured, it’s non-toxic and food-safe for indirect food contact (tabletops, serving surfaces, countertops). We don’t recommend cutting directly on epoxy—use a cutting board.
Where can I find technical documents (SDS / TDS)?
You can find our Safety Data Sheets (SDS) here: https://www.craft-resin.com/pages/safety-data-sheet
